Immutable, a Web3 gaming platform, has recently announced its eagerly awaited mainnet launch roadmap for Immutable zkEVM. This move signifies a major stride towards establishing itself as the premier gaming platform on the Ethereum network.
Immutable’s core objective is to elevate the experience for players, optimize revenue generation, and enrich the developer journey, with plans to roll out the zkEVM mainnet in the upcoming year.
Following the recent introduction of the Immutable zkEVM Testnet, there has been a surge in gaming projects expressing interest in leveraging the platform’s potential, as stated by the company.
To date, over 50 games have confirmed their intention to develop on the Immutable zkEVM platform.
Immutable Eyes Technical Upgrade in Coming Months
A crucial element in Immutable’s upcoming trajectory is the advanced technical enhancement that the Immutable zkEVM will undergo in the near future, setting the stage for a robust mainnet debut.
This forthcoming enhancement encompasses a shift from the Polygon Edge to Geth. Such a transition is designed to align Immutable zkEVM more integrally with Ethereum, while also ensuring it remains compatible with the expansive Ethereum tooling infrastructure.
As part of their journey to the mainnet, there are several critical benchmarks. Notably, the Immutable zkEVM Testnet has already garnered significant attention from developers.
According to the web3 gaming platform, the testnet has witnessed over 20,000 active addresses and managed to process in excess of 100,000 transactions. This showcases the enthusiasm of game developers who are actively harnessing the platform for their creations.
Additionally, another Testnet Re-Genesis is slated for launch in the coming month.
Immutable zEKVM Mainnet Launch Scheduled Between December and January
The pinnacle of this roadmap is undeniably the impending launch of the Immutable zkEVM Mainnet, set to be rolled out between December of this year and January of the subsequent year.
During this pivotal stage, Immutable will initially welcome developers to be part of the new chain in segmented groups. Once this initial integration is complete, the platform will open its doors to the broader public, marking a transformative moment for gaming on the Ethereum network.
Looking ahead to 2024, the project has plans in the pipeline to roll out dedicated application chains. These chains will harness the technological prowess and functionalities of Immutable zkEVM but will present a distinct layer of customization. The primary focus of these chains will be to ensure unparalleled liquidity, seamless accessibility, and fortified security.
But the vision doesn’t stop there. A substantial goal is set for later in 2024 — the launch of zk-prover. This feature promises a trustless conduit between Ethereum and Immutable zkEVM.
Given that the Immutable zkEVM Testnet is already operational and open to users, the anticipation is building steadily for the momentous Mainnet inauguration.
