Warner Bros. will release a limited number of NFT versions of the superhero film “The Flash” on the Eluvio blockchain platform. The digital release of the film will be accompanied by the issuance of NFTs, allowing fans to interact with the movie in an exciting way, according to a press release by Warner Bros. The NFTs will be available on July 18th on the Eluvio platform.
It is claimed that as part of the Web3 immersion, viewers will be able to unlock exclusive content and behind-the-scenes footage through an interactive menu. The tokens will be offered in two editions: the Mystic Edition and the Premium Edition.
The Mystic Edition will consist of 10,000 NFTs, with each token priced at $35. The Premium Edition will include 2,000 NFTs, priced at $100 per token. The key difference between the editions, aside from the limited supply, lies in the NFT format. The Mystic Edition features static objects on the tokens, while the Premium Edition showcases animated characters. It is unclear whether NFT owners will be able to resell them on secondary markets. However, according to Eluvio’s description, the blockchain is interoperable with the Ethereum ecosystem.
For Warner Bros., this is not the first attempt to bring films onto the blockchain rails. In October 2021, the American film company released an NFT version of “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” also in partnership with Eluvio.
The minimum starting price for the tokens was $30, while the rare version required a payment of $100. The NFTs themselves represented looping menu backgrounds depicting locations such as The Shire, Rivendell, and the Mines of Moria.
