TravelX and Viva Aerobus have entered into a partnership to convert airline tickets into digital assets using the Algorand blockchain.
Passengers can transform their tickets, benefiting from features such as smart ticket buyback and intelligent flight exchanges through this collaboration.
Previous partnerships of TravelX with Flybondi and Air Europa reflect the growing trend of blockchain usage, offering NFT-based airline tickets to enhance customer service in the tourism industry.
TravelX, a company utilizing blockchain to help airlines expand their retail capabilities, has forged a partnership with Viva Aerobus, a Mexican aviation giant, to convert tickets into digital assets using the Algorand blockchain.

It is important to note that passengers purchasing airline tickets can convert them into digital assets. According to the announcement, a smart buyback and smart ticket exchange will be implemented.
Additionally, the partnership is expected to offer Viva Aerobus customers opportunities for income generation and innovative utilization.
This is not the first time TravelX has collaborated with airlines to facilitate the adoption of blockchain technology. In April of this year, TravelX entered into a partnership with Flybondi to introduce electronic tickets in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) through collaboration with an NFT ticket sales company.
The NFT ticket version allows passengers to change the name on the ticket, transfer it, or sell it.
The NFT ticket technology is built on the Algorand blockchain, showcasing Flybondi’s commitment to innovation and providing the best service quality to its customers.
Flybondi’s CEO, Mauricio Sana, stated, “We are pleased to be at the forefront of these changes in the tourism industry.”
Last year, in partnership with Air Europa, TravelX launched the world’s first series of NFT airline tickets called NFTickets. Those who acquired NFTickets were granted exclusive access to an Air Europa flight to Miami Beach at the end of November.
Furthermore, they were entitled to specific privileges and participation in events leading up to Art Basel, scheduled to take place in Miami Beach in December.
