Starbucks Korea Reveals New NFT Project
Starbucks is forging ahead on its NFT path, with Starbucks Korea unveiling its pioneering NFT venture, ‘STARBUCKS STAR★LIGHT’ – a first-of-its-kind endeavor for the company in Asia.
The initiative encourages patrons to integrate their personal cups into their daily routines by providing exclusive limited-edition NFTs as incentives.
Commencing on January 16, Starbucks will bestow NFTs upon Rewards customers who place beverage orders via the Siren Order (mobile ordering) platform while utilizing their own reusable cups.
Significantly, for each purchase, customers will accrue an Eco Stamp, with a daily maximum of three stamps per person.
The collectible NFTs come in three distinct tiers:
1. BASIC: Customers have the opportunity to redeem one NFT by accumulating five Eco Stamps.
2. CREATIVE: Collecting a total of fifteen Eco Stamps will unlock this limited edition, boasting a pool of 20,000 NFTs.
3. ARTIST: The pinnacle tier, attainable with twenty Eco Stamps, provides access to a limited edition set of 1,000 NFTs.
Notably, these NFTs have been crafted through a collaboration with South Korea’s prominent digital art platform, ‘Print Bakery.’ They prominently feature the artistic creations of DADAZ and numerous local artists.
These NFTs showcase a diverse array of digital artworks centered around the theme of ‘My Own Cup,’ highlighting reusable cups and tumblers, as stated in the press release.
It’s important to note that the Starbucks NFTs will have limited functionality, with constraints on gifting, selling, or trading.
The Nyan Heroes Coming to Epic Games Store
The Nyan Heroes team has grabbed the spotlight in today’s NFT news with the exciting announcement that their forthcoming PC battle royale shooter will be released on the prominent digital distribution platform, Epic Games Store – the creators of the immensely popular Fortnite.
As per the FAQ provided, Nyan Heroes is a free-to-play, third-person hero shooter that revolves around intelligent cats operating formidable mechs known as Guardians.
While the game does incorporate NFTs, their usage remains optional. The team clarified that, “Primarily, NFTs will serve as an ownership layer for specific digital assets acquired or purchased within the game.”
Nyan Heroes has plans to introduce a marketplace where users can engage in the trading of in-game items, both for utilization within gameplay and beyond, as mentioned.
Notably, the game is built on the Solana blockchain and does not necessitate the use of an external wallet. However, it does support collections via the Phantom Wallet.
While an official release date remains undisclosed, a “coming soon” page has been prepared, indicating that the game is in Early Access, implying it is still in development and subject to potential changes. Moreover, it will be offered as a free-to-play experience.
