Studio 369, the game development firm behind the highly anticipated first-person shooter (FPS) MetalCore, has officially announced a rallying cry to its player base in preparation for the game’s upcoming milestone.
In a recent press release, Studio 369 unveiled the “Call to Arms,” an exclusive playtest event tailored for early supporters, offering them a firsthand glimpse into the game’s latest updates.
Scheduled to commence on February 26, the “Call to Arms” MetalCore Closed Beta introduces a host of new features including a missions system, fresh rewards, and daily in-game quests, complete with bonuses for top performers.
Additionally, players have the opportunity to augment their experience with even more in-game rewards and coveted access by acquiring a MetalCore Genesis Infantry NFT.
These NFTs constitute a collection of 10,000 distinct and playable Infantry units, each imbued with a diverse array of traits and varying levels of rarity.
Participants who secure (and maintain) their Genesis Infantry prior to February 29 will witness these NFTs in action during the subsequent Closed Beta phase.
Launched in July 2022, MetalCore Infantry represents a pioneering NFT collection featuring playable Infantry units.
According to the OpenSea marketplace, MetalCore is described as “a visually stunning, open world, mechanized combat FPS game crafted by seasoned game developers and Hugo Award-winning artists.”
As per OpenSea data, the collection boasts a total volume of 687 ETH, with a floor price of 0.149 ETH as of the latest update.
Matt Candler, CEO of Studio 369, emphasized that the Closed Beta playtest “marks a significant milestone for Studio 369 – it presents our first opportunity to acquaint players with the MetalCore economy and the intricate mechanics we’ve painstakingly developed.”
The announcement further revealed that the “Call to Arms” event serves as the initial among several pivotal moments in store for MetalCore enthusiasts in the coming months. Studio 369 is gearing up for the game’s public open beta launch, slated for Spring 2024.
In late January, MetalCore made headlines by announcing its participation as one of the pioneering games on Immutable zkEVM, powered by Polygon.
