Solana NFT Sales Volume Drops Below $1 Million
In a significant turn of events reported throughout NFT circles yesterday, operations on the Solana network have resumed after a five-hour outage on Tuesday. The Solana team has stated that they are currently investigating the root cause of the disruption.
As previously mentioned, this incident has impacted both the price of the native SOL token and Solana NFT sales volume.
Over the last 24 hours, Solana has experienced a steep decline of nearly 44%, totaling $712,096 in NFT sales volume. Consequently, it has slipped to the sixth position in terms of NFT sales volume.
To provide perspective on this substantial shift, Solana had been engaged in a weeks-long battle with Bitcoin for the second spot on the list, even managing to surpass it on multiple occasions. During that period, its daily NFT volume hovered around $7 million.
Currently, Bitcoin has reclaimed the second position, trailing Ethereum, with a volume of nearly $8 million. Following closely behind is Polygon with $1.3 million.
Taking a broader view and examining the weekly charts, Solana remains in third place despite a 31% decrease, recording $34.9 million in NFT sales volume. However, this figure still falls significantly short of Bitcoin’s $64.3 million.
Expanding the scope to the past 30 days, Solana has experienced a 32.5% decline, amounting to $212.3 million, and is presently positioned in third place.
When considering the all-time rankings, Solana trails behind Ethereum, albeit with a notable difference in sales volumes, as expected.
