Mercedes-Benz NXT, the Web3 division of the renowned German automotive giant, is set to unveil a fresh non-fungible token (NFT) collection in collaboration with Mojito, a platform dedicated to crafting NFT marketplaces.
Dubbed ‘The Era of Technology,’ this collection marks the second installment in the ‘Icon’ series, which comprises seven distinct eras.
A curated selection of 780 exclusive collectibles will debut on May 21 at 18:00 CET, with the minting process remaining accessible for seven days until May 28.
It’s worth noting that participation in this endeavor is restricted to collectors residing in the EU, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, the U.K., the US, and Taiwan due to compliance with regulatory and tax stipulations.
Discounts and Mint Passes for Existing Collectors
According to the press release, minting is open to all interested parties.
The cost is fixed at 0.08 ETH.
Moreover, there are two discount schemes in place.
The first entails a 30% discount for collectors who have previously acquired items from the core collections: Maschine, Mercedes-Benz NXT Icons, and Mercedes-Benz NXT Eternities.
The second discount, amounting to 15%, is exclusive to Superdackel holders.
Furthermore, Maschine and Mercedes-Benz NXT Eternities collectors will be granted mint passes, each of which enables one complimentary mint (excluding gas fees) or a discounted price. These mint passes are invalidated upon use.
The Second of Seven Eras
The release highlights that Mercedes-Benz NXT Icons serve as a tribute to the rich design legacy of Mercedes-Benz.
Under the leadership of Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener, the Mercedes-Benz design team meticulously crafted these items.
The narrative of the collection unfolds across seven eras, spanning from contemporary times to the genesis of automotive history.
The inaugural chapter, “The Era of Luxury,” celebrates the brand’s design heritage in the digital realm, featuring current car models.
Following this, “The Era of Technology” emerges as the second era, showcasing six iconic vehicles manufactured between 2000 and 2017.
These include the Maybach Landaulet, Mercedes-Benz S 560 Cabriolet, Mercedes-Benz CLS 500, Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6×6, Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series, and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé.
As per the team, these items boast 62 distinctive attributes grouped into five visible categories.
This meticulous curation empowers enthusiasts to own a digital rendition of their beloved Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
The announcement underscores that Mojito’s APIs and SDKs form the foundation of Mercedes-Benz NXT’s web3 infrastructure, seamlessly blending blockchain, NFTs, and user-friendly interfaces. It aims to combine the convenience of web2 with the transformative potential of web3.
Mojito prioritized the development of a platform designed to simplify tasks such as streamlined token creation, customized smart contract deployment, automated token distribution, tiered discounts utilizing tokengating, and customer management and reporting.
Moreover, it integrated WalletConnect and Metamask for enhanced accessibility and functionality.
Mercedes-Benz NXT’s initial core collection, Maschine, was created in collaboration with acclaimed artist Harm van den Dorpel and the Fingerprints DAO art collective.
This was followed by Eternities, made available to a select group of Mercedes-Benz customers, and Superdackel, paying homage to the iconic nodding dog dashboard toy ‘Wackeldackel.’
