Coinbase’s Marketplace Unveils AI-generated NFT Feature
Coinbase’s NFT marketplace has introduced a new feature called Instamint, which aims to simplify and democratize the NFT creation process by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI).
Instamint allows all users, including aspiring artists, to easily generate their own NFTs. To create an “on-chain collection” for personal use or sale, users only need to follow a few simple steps. They can start by adding a photo, providing a name and description for the future NFT, and optionally setting the gas price in ETH (Ethereum), with a minimum starting price of $0.01.
Coinbase NFT’s platform was initially launched in beta in June 2023. It operates as an open marketplace that permits users to trade NFTs using their non-custodial wallets, such as MetaMask, without requiring the use of Coinbase Wallet.
In addition to this new Instamint feature, Coinbase has expressed plans to further decentralize its NFT marketplace by transitioning certain features from Coinbase’s technology to decentralized solutions. They also intend to expand support for NFTs on blockchains other than Ethereum, demonstrating their commitment to embracing a broader range of blockchain ecosystems within the NFT space.
